Hogs Cricket Festival, 13th-20th August 2017

The 2017 Hogs Cricket Festival (Hog Week) starts on Sunday 13th August with a game against new visitors St Edward`s Martyrs, followed by the traditional two-day fixture against Cryptics, with a BBQ for all on Monday evening after the first day`s play.  On Wednesday and Thursday, we welcome two old foes Free Foresters and I Zingari, the latter playing in the Week for the first time.  Play starts at 11.00 a.m. each day.

Friday, 18th August is President`s Day, our annual gathering to celebrate the joys of Hogs cricket and our beautiful ground at Warnford.  A strong Hogs side will play the President`s XI, a team of the finest cricketers to be found outside the Club, and the President himself will host a delicious lunch provided by Gill and Tony Crawford in the marquee.

After lunch, our guest auctioneer Tom Lofts will be raising funds for the improvement of Club facilities and the development of young Hog and Hogget cricketers.  Please contact the President, Roger Hunt, for tickets on 07778 185794 or president@hampshirehogs.org.uk.

The annual Hogs Six-a-Side Tournament has become a popular event for players and spectators and this climax to the Cricket Festival will be held on Sunday, 20th August, with an early start at 8.45 a.m.  The round-robin groups will be followed by semi-finals before a final which will be closely-fought if the experience of previous years is repeated.  The BBQ and the bar will be open all day in the marquee.
